About This Course

"Accelerated R: Part 2 - Implementation" is part of a broader educational platform designed to demonstrate how high-performance Fortran routines can be integrated into R for applications in atmospheric science, oceanography, climate, and water research. Delivered as an interactive console-based experience using the R swirl package, the course introduces learners to foundational concepts such as using Fortran in R scripts and packages (via C), and applies these to three computational challenges frequently encountered in environmental modelling (Access this course on GitLab).
